In 1876 Arthur Soden and J.B. Billings purchased controlling interest in the Boston Red Stockings. Later in 1877 it was announced that Soden was the Team President. One of his more notable accomplishments as President was being credited with inventing the reserve clause, which allowed the team to "reserve" a player for the following season. From the 1877 season comes this "Complimentary" ticket for two signed by the Boston Base Ball Clubs President Arthur Soden. 2x3.25", VG-EX/EX.
