A great vintage movie poster produced for theatre showing of this great baseball gem - one of the first to depict a black man as an American hero, telling the story of the most important American athlete in history, “The Jackie Robinson Story” (1950 Eagle Lion). This was once displayed in the cinema where it was playing back in 1950. Copyright and other rights to the poster are printed along the bottom border. The primary appeal about this classic is that Jackie Robinson played himself (Ruby Dee as his wife). Across the top of the poster is “Jackie Robinson - ‘The Pride of Brooklyn’ as HIMSELF… with Minor Watson as ‘Branch Rickey’…” Folded three times horizontally, otherwise Excellent condition displaying bold graphics. Framed to 16x38”.
