1972-73 Ken Baird Alberta Oilers WHA Game Worn Jersey

1972-73 Ken Baird Alberta Oilers WHA Game Worn Jersey

In 1972, Ken Baird was one of the rare talented youngsters to jump to the WHA when the Alberta Oilers selected him. He spent four years with the team that became the Edmonton Oilers and then had brief stops in Calgary and Winnipeg before concluding his professional career in Germany. This all-original Oilers jersey shows plenty of use with eight team repairs – one on the left elbow, three on the orange of the back #1, and another four on the orange of the back #9. Tagging was present in the tail, but is now missing with remnants of the stitching remaining due to wear and tear put on this jersey by Baird. Stick marks on the back right hip. Sweat stains above and below the Oilers crest on the front. Blue marks on the front left side. A great first-year Oilers jersey.
