Bill Dickey Game Used Bat

Bill Dickey Game Used Bat

Needless to say, Bill Dickey is a Baseball Hall of Famer and this rare relic was used by the eight time World Champion and eleven time All Star. His game used items are difficult to find and here we have one of the bats that he used during his playing career. An early 1940s Hillerich and Bradsby, it has nothing on the knob, but on the barrel, "Bill Dickey" in script stands alone. The center brand and facsimile signature are both clear and deep. As for use, there are many ball seam impressions on the barrel, most being on the top, and there's some slight grain separation from all the compression caused by heavy use. The handle was cracked and repaired with four small nails and there is slight lighting of color around the cracked area due to taping as the tape used for the crack has since been removed. It weighs 33 ounces and measures 35 inches, and these specifications fall within the recorded factory data from the time period that it was used.
