Circa 1922 Joe Jackson Is Innocent Broadside

Circa 1922 Joe Jackson Is Innocent Broadside

Incredible handout from Joe's circa 1922 agent, Ed "Square Deal" Phelan. This "used car dealer" type promoter was at the time controlling the barnstorming scene as co-promoter of the New York Semi-Professional Baseball Association. Awesome wording on this appx 6x8" colored cardboard handout tells all comers to "put up or shut up." One of the best pieces in this collection, it has been removed from the scrapbook page because another piece was behind it on the page. We needed to save both. The only period piece we have ever seen that promotes the innocence of Shoeless Joe.
