This was entered into important 1968 APPA photo contest by the greatest sports photographer of our time, Neil Leifer. Stunning image of Drysdale letting one go with the force of this moment indelibly etched onto his movie star face. Perfect vintage photo is 19x12.5", mounted on 16x20" black cardboard. Verso is 4.5x3" contest label listing category as "Sports", Title of Picture "Baseball," photographer "Neil Leifer" and "Organization" as "Sports Illustrated." Fine condition. Discovered in a home previously owned by Leifer, who is best known for his work with Sports Illustrated and specifically for the image of Muhammad Ali standing menacingly over Sonny Liston.
