Late 1940’s Jackie Robinson Single Signed Baseball

Late 1940’s Jackie Robinson Single Signed Baseball

Unofficial Spalding ball has a very early example of Brooklyn Dodger star Jackie Robinson’s signature, all by his lonesome on a panel in ball-point. The autograph is strong, rating an 8.5/10 overall. The baseball itself is clean, with no major defects. Ex-Mt to Near Mint. This rare, high grade single was obtained by a very savvy cab driver from Boston, who knew ahead of time when the visiting clubs would be coming into South Station to play either the Braves, or the BoSox. This Robinson autograph dates to the tail end of the 1940’s, just as Jackie was making his bones. The cabbie held onto his prize for over fifty years, until recently surfacing for our auction.
