Lefty Grove 1936 Vintage Signed Red Sox Letter and Signed George Burke Photo 4 x 6"
Vintage typewritten letter written by Hall of Fame pitcher Lefty Grove on official Red Sox stationary. This letter is dated July 14, 1936 and has Grove's bold, clear signature in black fountain ink at the bottom and a color Red Sox logo at the top. The signature rates a "9.5" out of a possible 10. The stationary reads "Boston American League Baseball Company" and the letter reads in part, "I appreciate the good wishes for me contained in your letter and I only hope that the Boston Red Sox Club will continue to merit your interest. Enclosed you will find an autographed picture." The letter has been folded but is otherwise in NRMT condition. A beautiful 4 x 6" photo of Grove pitching for the Red Sox and taken by famed baseball photographer George Burke is also part of this collection. Grove has signed this picture in blue ink. The signature rates a "9" out of a possible 10 while the photograph has fine contrast and is NRMT.
