Washington Senators Sign That Hung In Yankee Stadium

Washington Senators Sign That Hung In Yankee Stadium

This Washington Senators sign is a one of a kind piece. It is a beautifully hand painted red, white and blue wooden sign with a pitcher painted in the middle and the Capitol Building in Washington DC painted behind him. It reads “The Senators” in script going around the top in blue paint. This was a wooden sign which hung in the Yankee Stadium in the 1950’s right on through to the 1960’s. Due to the renovation happening to the Yankee Stadium in the 1970’s, the sign had to be taken down. Although this piece is old, it is in fairly good shape, despite a little paint chipping around the rim. The paint that was once white shows signs of age, but that is to be expected from a piece from that era. It’s a perfect circle measuring 24” across.
