1934 Babe Ruth Signed 700th Home Run Ticket (PSA, JSA, SGC)

1934 Babe Ruth Signed 700th Home Run Ticket (PSA, JSA, SGC)

Historic ticket stub dating from July 13, 1934, the date that Babe Ruth became the first Major Leaguer to reach the 700 career home run plateau. One of two known, this has the bonus of being signed on the back by the original Home Run King himself. Ruth's third inning homer gave the New York Yankees a 2-0 lead, though they would eventually fall to a 4-2 defeat in Detroit against the Tigers. Other great historical footnotes; at the time of the Bambino's 700th round tripper, Lou Gehrig was second on the list with just 323. Also, Gehrig's legendary consecutive-game streak was in jeopardy at 1,426 games as he had to leave the contest due to back pain, but it did not sideline him thereafter. Ticket itself has seen a lot of wear with paper loss and a repaired tear; SGC encapsulated A Authentic, also has full LOAs from PSA and JSA.
