Photograph Collection of Sugar Ray Robinson (10)
This collection of news wire photos chronicles the January 1960, bout with fellow prize fighter Paul Pender as they fought at the Boston Garden for the title of Middleweight Champion. The series of photos are a few publicity shots but the majority are in fight action shots, as the 2 fighters battle through a 15 round fight which ended with a split decision where Pender dethroned Robinson. The photos range in size from 7 x 9" to 8 x 11" and the quality from G to EX with some wrinkling and age spotting as well as editorial markings. Many have the original news clippings attached to the verso.
