1926 Miss America First Prize Trophy
There she is, Miss America! Norma Smallwood - the first Native American to win the classic pageant - was handed this 16.5"-tall trophy in 1926, the sixth year of the competition back when it was known as the Miss America A.C. Pageant and Rolling Chair Parade. This is the first trophy of its kind ever to be sold publicly. It was given to the Tulsa, Oklahoma native on the spot and never engraved. The silver trophy - which has a small dent in its base but is otherwise perfect - reads: "ATLANTIC CITY PAGEANT 1926 FIRST PRIZE ROLLING CHAIR PARADE INTER-CITY BEAUTIES SOUTHERN WON BY ___." The name was never engraved because she was presented it on the spot. The cup's quality and detail are spectacular. Comes with photo (shown) of her holding this with two others.
