Grace Kelly’s 1940 Girl Scout Handbook

A highly coveted piece of personal property from Grace Kelly's childhood. Personally owned and used Girl Scout Handbook that she used as a little girl growing up in Philadelphia, PA. Copyrighted 1940, the book is undeniably Grace Kelly’s, her name stenciled in red ink in the center of the front free endpaper and again in the top right corner of the page. Following the title page is the “This is My Book” page, filled out completely in the hand of Grace Kelly. “Grace Kelly” is written at the top in blue ink. It is dated “March 1940” and the additional date of “April 1940” was added, denoting the date she became a Girl Scout. Furthermore her name and address are written as “Grace P. Kelly 3901 Henry Ave. Phila., Pa.” Her position as a Girl Scout is filled in as “Patrol Leader” and her troop number was “2115.” The original cloth cover and binding are in Good condition, contents are overall Excellent.
